Squeeze Page Stanley

Squeeze Page Stanley

If you are a parent with young kids you have no doubt heard about Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley is a cartoon character that is printed on a page or is made by the kids and cut out. Flat Stanley is two-dimensional, and he can go anywhere. Often, grade school kids will create their own Flat Stanley, and then give it to a friend who's going on vacation.

This two-dimensional cartoon character will ride along in the suitcase, to whatever destination their friends travel too. When he gets back the people from accompanying the people that took him on vacation he will be returned to the little kid to take to school. Then the school kid will then write up a small report of where Flat Stanley went on his vacation.

The reason I bring this up is because I've been noticing something on the Internet that's been bothering me. You see, I am an online article writer and author and I've noticed other online article writers and online article marketers are thinking two-dimensionally (some extremely prolific ones).

Let me explain what I mean.

Too many online article writers are putting links to a website in their byline and then when the reader of the article goes to their website they are presented with a Squeeze Page. If you don't know what a squeeze page is, it is a page on the Internet where the Internet Surfer cannot go past that point until they put in their name and e-mail address.

This seems rather unfortunate, and it is two-dimensional thinking. If you want targeted quality traffic and people that will actually buy something from you, then you don't want to treat them like dirt, and make them fill out a form before allowing them into your website.

That is just a mean-spirited thing to do, and it is disrespecting your readership. But it's also doing something else. It is hurting all the other online article authors that use article marketing, or informational selling to attract customers and potential clients.

It really is a trust issue. If the Internet readers and surfers that are looking for information, reads articles, and there are links at the bottom of the bylines and they click and keep getting squeeze pages, after a while they will never click on another one again. Who loses? Well, we all lose. This is why I am concerned with Squeeze Page Stanley. Please consider all this.
